Re-scanning the QR code for a WhatsApp number you already connected keeps its triggers running. The scan reconnects the credential you have, but the workflows waiting on incoming messages went quiet afterwards, while the node still reported the trigger as registered.

A WhatsApp number you just scanned reads as connected right away. For up to a minute after a scan it could show an amber Disconnected label in the credential picker, and a trigger on it refused to register for as long as it did.

A WhatsApp connection that has dropped no longer costs the $0.99 monthly connection fee for the hours it is down. Billing resumes when you re-scan the QR code.
