What languages can I write functions in?

The node offers two runtimes. A JavaScript runtime uses fast QuickJS execution for quick data transformations and simple logic, and a Python runtime runs in a full sandbox for heavier work.

Can I install packages or use a GPU?

Yes, with the Python runtime. It lets you list pip requirements, configure CPU cores and memory, choose a GPU type and count, set a timeout, and pick a preferred region. The JavaScript runtime is for lightweight logic without external dependencies.

How do I pass data into a serverless function?

You define named function inputs on the node, and each input takes a value reference from an upstream node such as {{node-id.field}}. Inside the function body those names are available as variables.

When should I use this node instead of a dedicated integration?

Use it whenever you need custom logic that no existing node provides, most often to transform or filter data between two nodes. For talking to an external API, the HTTP Request node is usually the better fit.

Is the function code sandboxed?

Yes. JavaScript runs in an isolated QuickJS engine, and Python runs in a sandboxed environment with configurable hardware limits. This keeps custom code contained while still letting it do real work in the workflow.

What does it mean to connect an app to Claude Code?

You wire an integration node into the agent's tools handle. Each operation that app exposes becomes a tool Claude Code can call directly, so it can take real actions in that app instead of only describing them.

Do I need to write any code to set this up?
