Reddit automation

85 operations availableSocial Media

Reddit is a sprawling network of topic-based communities where discussion, news, and niche expertise live in subreddits. The NoClick Reddit node covers the full Reddit API: it submits text and link posts, comments and votes, searches across the site, and reads everything from subreddit feeds to user histories. Moderators get a deep toolset too, with operations for approving, removing, locking, distinguishing, and stickying content.

Social Listening Agent

Sweeps Reddit every hour for every mention of your brand, logs all of them to Airtable with sentiment and priority, and pings Slack only for the ones that need an answer today. Reddit mentions usually get found days late, by accident, by whoever happened to be scrolling. This agent runs a sweep every hour against the exact terms you care about, logs everything it finds to Airtable with sentiment and priority, and only interrupts your team when a post genuinely needs a reply. Small social teams use this pattern to cover hundreds of posts a day and still only look at the ten or fifteen that matter. ## What people use it for - **Answer complaints within the hour** - A frustrated user who posts at 2am is answered the same morning instead of three days later, because every sweep checks the threads where your users actually complain. - **Catch buying questions early** - Threads asking which tool to pick get flagged the moment they appear, while the post is still on the front page and a reply still changes the outcome. - **A searchable record of every mention** - Everything the sweep finds lands in Airtable with a link, sentiment, and priority. A quarter of mentions becomes a dataset you can actually chart instead of a folder of screenshots. - **Watch competitors in the same pass** - Add competitor names to the watch list and every comparison thread and migration question gets logged next to your own mentions, at no extra effort. ## Before you fork **What do I need connected before this runs?** A Reddit account for search, a Slack workspace with the channel you want pings in, and an Airtable base with a table for mentions. Setup walks you through each connection, and the first Test Run shows you exactly what a sweep produces before you let it run live. **Will it reply or post on Reddit?** No. It only reads: search, subreddit posts, and comments. Its instructions say never to reply, comment, or vote, and it has no Reddit write tool wired in, so the worst case is a logged mention you did not need. Every reply is still a human decision. **What does it cost to run every hour?** One agent run per sweep, so 24 a day. Most are cheap because the agent reads a handful of results and sends nothing; the expensive ones are the busy hours where it reads full comment threads. If your volume is low, change the schedule to every three or six hours and nothing else needs to change.

Reddit Brand Monitor

Finds the Reddit threads where people are weighing you up, reads the comments before it judges them, and sends the ones worth answering while they are still climbing. Reddit is where people ask whether your product is worth paying for, and they ask each other rather than you. This agent sweeps the terms and subreddits you name every hour, opens the real hits and reads the comments underneath before deciding anything, then sends whatever clears your bar to Slack while the thread is still climbing. It never posts a word back, because a brand answering through a bot ends up as the screenshot at the top of the thread. ## What people use it for - **Arrive while it is rising** - A Reddit thread does most of its traffic in the first six hours. Hearing about it inside the hour is the difference between joining the conversation and reading the postmortem. - **Know the sub before speaking** - Each message says what that subreddit's rules allow from companies. Nobody walks into a community that removes vendor comments on sight and learns about it from a mod. - **Complaints that skipped support** - Plenty of unhappy customers post to Reddit instead of opening a ticket. Those threads reach Slack with the comments quoted, early enough to fix the account before the thread starts outranking your own site. - **Quiet hours stay quiet** - Only threads clearing your policy interrupt anybody; passing mentions gather into the end of day roundup. Most sweeps send nothing at all, which is the intended result. ## Before you fork **Does it need a Reddit account, and could it get us banned?** It reads through the Reddit API with a connected account, and reading is the whole of what it does. No posting, commenting or voting operation exists anywhere in this template, and its instructions forbid all of them, so the behaviour that gets brands banned is not available to it. What you do with a thread afterwards is your call, made as yourself. **Our product name is a common word. Will the channel be unusable?** Common word names are the usual situation here rather than the exception, and the sweep assumes it. Collisions get dropped before anything is counted, so a band, a game item or an unrelated company sharing your name never reaches you. If week one still feels busy, cut the watch list down to your domain and your exact product name, and name the four or five subreddits that matter rather than searching all of Reddit. **What does an hourly schedule cost to run?** One agent run each hour, and the hours that read a long comment thread cost more than the hours that find nothing. In practice most are cheap because most are empty. You can trade speed for cost by moving to every three hours, at the price of missing a thread's first hour, which is the main reason to run this at all.
