An issue flagged blocked with nothing written on it gets those words instead of a plausible sentence. The absence is the useful information, and inventing a cause would bury it.

Quoting is safer than summarising

The impediment text goes in as written, up to a sentence. A paraphrase of a blocker is where a vendor delay silently becomes an internal one in somebody's retelling.

Blocker text sometimes names a customer. Where does that end up?

In the Slack channel you connect, quoted up to a sentence, since the impediment note is the reason that heading exists. If the channel is wider than the Jira project, either narrow the channel or use the digest style variable to ask for the blocker to be referenced rather than quoted. Nothing is ever written back into Jira.
