Notion Docs Watch Agent with Hermes

This is comprehension work with no writes attached: open the blocks, work out what the page now instructs, place it in the tree, and say whether it is anybody's to act on. Hermes puts open Hermes models behind that kind of reading and holds your Notion and Slack connections as tools, which suits a job whose only artifact is a short message.

Watch it work before it's live

Run a staged conversation — no account needed. The agent handles it for real while a simulated world answers its tool calls; nothing touches real accounts, and nothing is actually sent.

Runbook: payment webhook backlog

Created by Yuki Tanaka

The escalation section was replaced. It used to say page the payments on-call after 15 minutes of backlog. It now says wait for the automatic drain and only page above 50,000 queued events for 30 minutes. A callout with the Grafana link was added and the rollback steps were deleted. Owner property still reads Yuki Tanaka.

Set up in minutes

Using this template drops you into a guided setup. It asks exactly this, nothing else:

  1. Connect Notion

One sign-in. The agent acts through your account, scoped to what this template uses.

  2. Connect Slack

One sign-in. The agent acts through your account, scoped to what this template uses.

  3. Watch rules

The pages you genuinely care about, described however you would describe them to a colleague, whether that is a section, a title prefix or an owner, plus which edits you consider routine and the handful of pages where any change at all should reach the channel.

  4. Runs on Hermes

Preselected for this page — connect your Hermes account during setup, or switch to NoClick's built-in models with one click.

  5. Watch it handle a test run

A staged conversation against a simulated world — then it’s live.

Why Hermes for this agent

Open weights, no write path

The Notion side is read access and the Slack side is one post. A surface that narrow is a comfortable place to run an open model foundation.

Meaning over wording

A rewritten escalation step and a tidied sentence look similar in a diff and are nothing alike in effect. Separating them is reasoning rather than pattern matching.

Before you fork

Can it watch a page that has not been shared with the connection?

No. Sharing in Notion is a per page decision, so the integration sees the pages and databases you explicitly share and nothing else in the workspace. That is also the cleanest way to scope the watch, since an unshared page raises no event, is never read, and cannot reach the channel.
