Apollo Lead Enrichment Agent
Fills the blank fields on a new HubSpot contact with what Apollo can actually confirm, keeps the estimates in a note, and never overwrites a value a person typed.
Enrichment vendors sell coverage, and coverage is exactly how a CRM fills up with confident guesses nobody can trace later. This agent runs on each new HubSpot contact, spends one person lookup and one company lookup, and writes back only what Apollo confirmed, into fields that were empty. Its estimates, the revenue bands and headcount guesses, land in a note where a rep can weigh them, and a value somebody typed by hand is left alone.
## What people use it for
- **Confirmed and guessed, kept apart** - Properties get facts and the note gets estimates. Six months later you can still tell which values came from a person, which came from Apollo, and which were only ever a band.
- **Two credits per contact** - One person lookup, one company lookup, no speculative searching for lookalikes. Contacts your rules exclude cost nothing at all, because the run ends before Apollo is ever called.
- **Human entries survive** - A title a rep typed after an actual conversation beats whatever a database holds. Writes go into empty fields only, so nobody watches their own work get replaced overnight.
- **Profile matches surface fast** - When the confirmed facts line up with your ideal customer, the owner gets a Slack line naming the two or three that did it, while the person still remembers filling in your form.
## Before you fork
**How many Apollo credits does one contact use?**
Two calls at most, a person lookup on the address and a company lookup on the domain that returns. Contacts your rules exclude, personal mailboxes or existing customers for instance, use none because it stops before calling Apollo. There is no retry loop and no lookalike searching, which is where enrichment bills normally get away from people.
**How do I stop it filling my CRM with bad data?**
Three separate limits. It writes only properties you named, only when Apollo returned a genuine value, and only into fields sitting empty. Everything else, including every estimate and every disagreement with an existing value, goes into a note for a person to judge. Read that note from a staged run before pointing it at live contacts.
**What happens to contacts Apollo cannot find?**
They stay exactly as they were, with a note recording that Apollo returned nothing for the address. Generic mailboxes and personal addresses often end this way, and that is the right outcome rather than a failure. Connection wise it needs HubSpot access to read and update contacts and log notes, an Apollo credential, and one Slack channel.
