Google Sheets Row Agent with Claude Code

The instructions here are a set of refusals as much as anything else. Normalize only values with exactly one possible reading, never carry a value from one column into another however misplaced it looks, and leave an ambiguous date exactly where it is with both readings flagged. Claude Code holds a rule set like that across a run instead of helping in the places it was told not to.

Watch it work before it's live

Run a staged conversation — no account needed. The agent handles it for real while a simulated world answers its tool calls; nothing touches real accounts, and nothing is actually sent.

Set up in minutes

Using this template drops you into a guided setup. It asks exactly this, nothing else:

  1. Connect Google Sheets

One sign-in. The agent acts through your account, scoped to what this template uses.

  2. Connect Slack

One sign-in. The agent acts through your account, scoped to what this template uses.

  3. Row rules

What a complete, correct row looks like in this sheet - the columns that must never sit empty, how you want dates and phone numbers written, the exact labels each status column accepts, and which problems earn a Slack line instead of a quiet fix.

  4. Runs on Claude Code

Preselected for this page — connect your Claude Code account during setup, or switch to NoClick's built-in models with one click.

  5. Watch it handle a test run

A staged conversation against a simulated world — then it’s live.

Why Claude Code for this agent

A swapped column stays swapped

An email address in the phone column means a broken export upstream. Quietly moving it is how that export survives another year, so the note says which columns look swapped and changes neither.

Both readings, no choice made

07/08/2026 beside 8 July 2026 is genuinely two dates. Flagging the cell with both and writing nothing is the behaviour that stops a renewal firing a month early.

Before you fork

It writes into a live sheet. Can we undo a bad edit?

Every write lands in Google Sheets version history under the connected account, so each edit is visible and revertible like any other. It writes once, into the row that fired, and never inserts, deletes, sorts or reorders anything. Columns that should never be touched can be named in the row rules and it will only flag those.
