Our board is in German and so are the labels. Does that matter?

Labels are read off the column, so it writes whatever your column already carries in whatever language. What depends on the model is reading a row written in one language against rules you wrote in another. Keep the rules and the labels in the same language as the rows where you can, and read a few staged rows before pointing it at the live board.
