Before you fork

Will it work through the cards already sitting in intake?

No. It reacts to card changes from the moment you turn it on, so the existing pile stays untouched unless somebody edits those cards. If you want them handled, move a few back into the intake list and they come through the normal path, which is also a decent way to watch it work on real cards rather than staged ones.
