Before you fork

Twenty-four sweeps a day sounds expensive.

Most ticks are cheap because there is nothing new to read and nothing to send, and the cost lands on the busy hours where the agent opens full comment threads. A thorough harness does read more per sweep than a terse one. If you are watching spend, run it hourly for a week, then move to every three hours if the extra passes are not catching anything you would have missed.
